What decides fruit size: potash, calcium and timing
Fruit size, weight and finish are decided late, but prepared early. What potash and calcium do, where each Green Care Agro product fits, and why timing beats dose.

Size, weight and finish of the fruit are settled in the last part of the crop, but they depend on what happened earlier: how healthy the leaves are, how even the water was, and whether potash and calcium were available when the fruit needed them. This guide explains where each input fits, so that you pick by stage and not by habit.
Potash: size, weight and sweetness
Potassium helps move sugars and water into the fruit. When it is short, fruit can stay small and light and finish poorly. Two kinds of products work on this.
- Potash for the fruit itself. K+ Super Sizer is used to enhance fruit size and increase sugar content. Shakti Potash helps increase fruit weight and swelling for quality, attractive produce. Dose for both: 5 litres per acre through drip.
- Potash that is already in the soil. Potanex and PotashNova are living cultures that make soil potash available to the crop. Potanex is used for fruit size and quality, and PotashNova for fruit weight and shelf life. Dose for both: 250 g per 200 litres of water.
Calcium: cracking and drop
Calcium is needed for firm fruit skin and cell walls. Calcium Plus is used in banana to support healthy banana heart development, reduce fruit drop and cracking, and increase fruit size. Dose: 5 litres per acre through drip.
Cracking and drop are not only about calcium. Uneven irrigation, a long dry spell followed by heavy water, can crack fruit whatever the soil holds, so check your watering as well.
Flowering: set the stage early
Green Gold is used at the flowering stage to promote the formation of more female buds. Dose: 2 kg per acre through drip, at the flowering stage.
Banana: bunch shape and evenness
In banana, two more products work on the bunch. Shakti Ven Special supports uniform, equal fruiting, and Shakti Vadi Special increases the spacing between the hands of the bunch and promotes peduncle growth during fruiting. Both are 5 litres per acre through drip. The full order is in banana stage by stage.
Timing matters more than dose
A product applied at the wrong stage will not do what it is meant to, however much you use. Match it to the stage written on its page. And no single input makes up for weak leaves, poor roots or irregular water, so look at those as well. The products for fruit size and quality are listed together on one page, and the dosage calculator gives you the quantity for your area.
